On the Continent of Africa
Ethiopia is only one of 53 countries on the Continent of Africa. UC Berkley wants you to see how many other African countries you can name.
My 5 year old could probably name all of them. He is a geography buff. Loves it. And he loves African countries.I hear him saying their names more than any other continent. I'm ashamed to even try. BY osmosis, I've learned way more than I ever knew in school. His influence has rubbed off on me. And because of that, I also pay more attention to country names in the news.
What was I doing wrong? I got 30 by my count, but it only counted two. Was I supposed to hit return after entering each country? If they are collecting data on this, I am afraid I skewed it horribly! But... it is an excellent exercise; I've bookmarked it I think I'll keep checking back until I can get all 53.
Shrijnana, the only count if you spell them right. When you spell the name right the name shows up on the screen. If you were hitting enter, nothing counted. It was the spelling that messed me up or I would have gotten more right.
The spelling might have been an issue, but I think I may have hit enter after the second country and it didn't count any after that. I'm not a great speller but I am sure I spelled Chad correctly!

I got 26. I missed another 4 due to spelling errors and the remaining 23 I just could not remember without cheating. Sad I know...
I got 27 but I keep trying to up my score.
